London couple Lian and Carlos married at Mayfair Library and finished their day with a Pearl Liang wedding reception in Paddington.
Lian and Carlos are both from Taiwan, living and working in London. Their guests were from all over the world including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Spain, France and Scotland. Although Lian’s parents were not able to attend, her best friend and honorary twin sister Belinda was.
Pei qi and her sister Xiao bu dian were adorable bridesmaids and Carlos’s best man Daniel and Scott were witnesses. Their matchmaker Lan fang also attended.
The ceremony was very happy and when Lian and Carlos received their marriage certificate and left the Mayfair Room, they threw their arms in the air with glee.
After confetti on the Mayfair Library steps, we went to the adjacent Mount Street Gardens. Sisters Maya, 8, and Inemay, 5, were keepers of the list for the family groups, checking that we took every photograph. Lian and Carlos stayed in the gardens for portraits while the guests went ahead to Pearl Liang.
Lian and Carlos’ portraits continued at Paddington in a recently completed garden next to the building where Carlos works. Trees with white blossom reminded us it was spring and the glass buildings gave a modern edge and striking reflections.
Guests ate a vegetarian banquet in honour of best man and vegetarian, Daniel. Traditional touches were speeches from Carlos and best man Daniel and an official cutting of the cake.
