Mayfair Library rainy wedding photography wasn’t really a choice for Cora and Kasem on their wedding day. It pretty much bucketed it down from their arrival all the way through to their evening drinks.
They arrived for their late afternoon marriage ceremony at Westminster Register Office (Mayfair Library) on South Audley Street under an umbrella but with broad smiles. They greeted their nine close friends in the porch at the Library before making their way up to the Marylebone Room for their ceremony. Cora wore a beautiful white embroidered mini dress, teamed with dark-grey metallic court shoes and a pretty bouquet of pink and cream roses. Kasem wore a navy suit and elegant cream rose buttonhole.
After the ceremony the rain had reached monsoon proportions so we did a few group photographs in the Mayfair Room, next door to the Marylebone Room. Then a couple of just Cora and Kasem in front of the impressive bookshelves before they made their way downstairs to the street. The rain was so bad that everyone was forced to stay inside the porch for the confetti throwing. Afterwards everyone caught taxis to nearby Cartizze Bar for champagne and canapes.
Normally at this stage I would take a few shots of Cora and Kasem in next door Mount Street Gardens but it was beyond umbrella weather even. Instead, I joined them at Cartizze and the wonderful staff on the first floor allowed us to use a small side room for a couple of photos. Cora and Kasem took everything in their stride and (being Italian) it is of course good luck if it rains on the wedding day. In this case it definitely didn’t damped anyone’s spirits.
