Natalie and Dan had their Mayfair Christmas wedding at Westminster Register Office. Mayfair Library is the current register office for Westminster Council. From January 2018 they will be moving back to Old Marylebone Town Hall. Mayfair Library was undergoing renovations and the scaffolding (with cover) made both ceremony rooms a little dark. Luckily Natalie had suggested a few photos taken before their ceremony in the daylight.
The wonderful staff at Bamford (62 South Audley Street) very kindly said ‘yes’ to me taking a few shots of Natalie and Dan plus their two witnesses. I loved their Christmas window complete with silver forest surround, lights and two deer. The Bamford colours worked really well – both wore navy, and Natalie teamed her funky A-line knee length lace dress with a camel coat and animal print court shoes. She held a pretty cream and green rose, eucalyptus and rosemary bouquet.
Natalie’s best friend Josh and his partner Mark were their two witnesses for this secret wedding… The plan was to tell family and friends at Christmas. I mentioned blinking to Josh and he told me that all of Natalie’s university photos had her blinking so I was on my guard. [She did a great job!] At Mayfair Library I took one more group photo before the ceremony and Dan’s (bent over double laugh) reaction is so very ‘him’!
Josh walked Natalie into the Marylebone Room and the ceremony was filled with laughter and a few tears. When they walked out as husband and wife Dan really went for it and Natalie was just as effusive as they walked out to confetti on the steps. Bars and shops on Mount Street all had Christmas decorations and lights – perfect dusk backdrops for photos. Jenny Packham‘s store was beautifully decorated with trees and shrubs and lit with golden lights. Thank you to staff there too for allowing photos. The four of them then went to Soho House for drinks and a meal to celebrate.
