Raji and Ali’s wedding day was full of smiles and laughter. Their Knightsbridge Room wedding photography at Old Marylebone Town Hall was an international affair. Ali flew in from Dubai with his parents and brother, and one sister and her family from Pakistan. Raji’s parents came over from Spain.
In total they had 19 guests which suited the Knightsbridge Room (capacity 30) really well. The back row seats 9 so it was left completely free for bags and buggies. And it meant that I could stand at the back and not block anyone’s view of the ceremony.
Ali arrived first with his Father followed by family and friends. Raji arrived with her sister and parents and I instantly remembered her telling me back in April that she would be wearing green. An elegant three-quarter sleeved skater dress from Claudie Pierlot with large waist tie detail in a stunning shade called Pantone Green (#00AB84 for the geeks reading this).
She teamed this with nude court shoes and a white and cream bouquet including blue flowers for her ‘something blue’. Raji did her own make up using Bare Minerals and hair was by her regular stylist, Tony Zreik on Finchley Road.
Alison Cathcart is the Superintendent Registrar at Westminster Register Office and she reflects couples’ personalities really well. Soon after Raji’s entrance on the arm of her parents, the smiles came thick and fast. It felt very intimate, relaxed and fun. The moment she handed Raji’s flowers to Ali was hysterical.
Persian cakes and sweets (yum) were brought out after the ceremony to celebrate and wish the couple well. Plenty of hugs, and then outside into bright sunshine and a hail of confetti. Groups, a few couple photos and then everyone departed for drinks and dinner nearby.
The Knightsbridge room is chalky-grey with hint of lilac. The armchair seats are covered in dark grey-teal velvet. It would suit any colour scheme and it is perfect for between 15 and 30 guests. For more information do take a look at my Old Marylebone Town Hall page where I have listed each ceremony room along with photographs.
