I really enjoy being an Ivy Chelsea Garden wedding photographer. David and Seaneen organised their wedding from abroad, choosing Chelsea Old Town Hall for their ceremony venue, and the Ivy Chelsea Garden for their drinks and dinner reception.
They arrived separately for their Chelsea Register Office wedding, keen to surprise each other at the start of their ceremony. Cousin Jim walked Seaneen down the aisle of the Brydon Room much to the delight of the twins. Seaneen wore a stunning full-length fitted lace dress with a small train and thin straps, a birdcage veil, and carried a yellow and white bouquet of roses and freesias. They personalised their ceremony with two readings. They had nearly 30 guests from all over the World and the atmosphere was terrific.
The Autumn wind caught the pastel paper confetti and it flew all over the place. Then everyone made their way to the Ivy Chelsea Garden, just a two-minute walk from Chelsea Old Town Hall. For their couple photographs I took David and Seaneen on a walk around the block. We took in Chelsea Manor Street, St Luke’s Gardens, Sydney Street, and ended up back at the Ivy Chelsea Garden. They are well-known for their exterior decoration – very Instagrammable – so we did a quick photo outside before joining everyone for drinks.
After a short drinks reception in the courtyard garden everyone made their way to the Ivy Chelsea Garden’s private dining room, The Eden Room. The Eden Room seats 30 on one long table, or 24 on three tables of 8 and is available 7-days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It also offers drinks receptions for 50 guests. The room is a filled with colourful botanicals, bold floral prints, antique mirror panels, and gold ceiling lights. It is glamorous with a capital G. It even includes your very own a private bar.
I left just after David and Seaneen cut their macaroon cake and they celebrated long into the night.
