This was my second visit as a Harcourt wedding photographer. Brenda and Michael celebrated their late Summer wedding in the Paddington Room at Old Marylebone Town Hall. They chose three of their closest friends to witness their marriage and followed this with a meal at The Harcourt.
Brenda wore a grey off-the-shoulder knee-length dress with silver embroidery and elbow length puffed sleeves. She teamed this with Charlotte Olympia personalised heeled sandals – a stamped gold plate with their wedding date to accompany the famous gold web logo. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies. Her elegant up-do completed the look.
I loved Brenda’s Charlotte Olympia clutch – a ‘Marry Me’ and ‘I Do’ clear case with an engagement ring closure.
Michael wore a grey three-piece suit with blue tie and shoes. He finished this off with a calla lily buttonhole. I love the look Brenda gave Michael as she appeared in the doorway at the start of their ceremony. Kevin delivered a wonderful reading and Denise and Tim witnessed the signing of the register. Brenda and Michael had written their own very personal vows, and these proved emotional for everyone present. It was an intimate ceremony, and just what they wanted.
Afterwards I took a photo of their confetti throw, a group incorporating one of the stone lions, and some couple photos. We all then walked the 5 or so minutes to the Harcourt, where they celebrated outside with a glass of champagne.
The Paddington Room
The Paddington Room at Old Marylebone Town Hall holds up to 15 guests and is the most relaxed of their seven ceremony rooms. It has two chairs and three pouffes if people want to sit but for most ceremonies everyone chooses to stand. It offers a personal and intimate feel.
The Harcourt
The Harcourt is tucked away in a quiet part of Marylebone just off York Street. It is one of the closest reception venues to Old Marylebone Town Hall. This former pub – now a pub and restaurant – oozes character and style. The elegant five-story Georgian townhouse has had a stunning make-over and offers three private rooms for a sit-down meal:
The White Room – up to 20 seated (although 10 to 14 is ideal)
The Black Room – up to 8 seated (although 4 to 6 is ideal)
The Garden Room – up to 66 seated with a designated bar
On arrival I highly recommend having drinks outside in the quiet part-cobbled street with French café style tables and chairs. This gives me a chance to photograph the dining room layout before you all enter and take your seats.
The Harcourt provides hearty and comforting food made with the best seasonal produce. British and French cooking techniques inspired by Chef-Director Henry Harris delivered with Nordic flair by Finnish Head Chef, Kimmo Makkonen. Drinks from independent breweries, a predominantly European wine list, speciality spirits such as Cognac, Armagnac, and artisan French aperitifs. Just the sort of place which makes you feel like the World stopped, just for you.
The staff are all extremely helpful and likeable.
