Theresa wore a stunning pale blue Ghost wedding dress for her Chelsea Old Town Hall elopement. There is nothing more fun than a Chelsea elopement. Two people with friends and family all over the UK spend a few days having the best time in London including getting married. Sometimes they keep their Chelsea elopement a secret and sometimes not. In this case, Theresa and Chris had told their nearest and dearest.
Register Office weddings in England and Wales require two witnesses. Theresa and Chris chose two Chelsea Pensioners – Walter and Godfrey – as their witnesses. Their scarlet coats look sensational in wedding photos.
Theresa teamed her Ghost wedding with a bouquet of cream and pink flowers. Chris was smart in a three-piece blue suit with a cream rose, heather and eucalyptus buttonhole. They had a joyful ceremony in the Rossetti Room and afterwards the sun blasted the couple as they left Chelsea Old Town Hall. Walter and Godfrey threw confetti on the famous King’s Road steps. One of the delights of working at Chelsea Register Office is passers-by saying ‘congratulations’. On this occasion we had an off-duty Pearly Queen give Theresa a massive hug.
Since it was so bright, we went to nearby St Luke’s Church for some shade and wedding portraits. Theresa and Chris looked wonderful in the soft, flattering light there. Afterwards, they headed for their wedding breakfast at The Shard. Many of my smaller weddings choose The Shard which has bars and restaurants with amazing views across London. For Theresa and Chris it was a stunning ending to their Chelsea elopement adventure.
A Ghost wedding dress is perfect for a city or destination wedding, and even a second outfit change. They offer dresses, trouser suits, and jumpsuits in contemporary designs with a hint of bohemian and plenty of romance. Their luxury fabrics drape beautifully.
