Every third week in May I am lucky enough to be a Chelsea Flower Show wedding photographer. The RHS Chelsea Flower Show bring designers and visitors from all over the World. The Chelsea shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, and hotels all make their own floral displays which creates a real buzz. Instagram goes flower, plant, and garden design mad.
Claire and Randy decided to get married at Chelsea Old Town Hall with Claire’s two children, their partners, and Claire’s sister as guests. They had come up from Brighton for their special day. The ceremony was held in the Rossetti Room and Claire was walked into the room by her son Martyn.
They came out onto the famous Chelsea Old Town Hall steps to bright sunshine and confetti. After a couple of groups shots, we walked up Sydney Street towards St Luke’s Gardens. Both the shop Cabbages & Roses and the restaurant Bumpkin kindly said ‘yes’ to a few shots of Claire and Randy outside their shop fronts.
Cabbages & Roses had a wonderful vintage garden design based around a vintage bicycle and Claire and Randy’s outfits suited this backdrop perfectly. Claire’s pale blue knee-length shift dress with cross-over back detail matched Randy’s pale blue shirt. And Claire’s wedding bouquet – soft greens, creams, pale pinks and peaches – looked wonderful with Randy’s pale yellow tie. They were framed so beautifully by the window display.
A couple of doors down and the soft peach coloured paint on the Georgian windows of Bumpkin were ideal. We did a few shots in St Luke’s gardens before they all set off for the OXO Tower for a celebration dinner.
